JACKSON, Miss.–The 166th Mississippi State Fair will feature a day for disabled people and people with special needs, announced Mississippi Ag Commissioner Andy Gipson, Thursday, at a news conference.

“This year we’re taking it to the next level by having our very first Disability Friendly Day for families with special needs children or loved ones,” he said.

The event is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7.

The fair runs from Oct. 2 through Oct. 13, with tickets for sale online for $8 prior to opening day.

This year’s concert acts include Montell Jordan and All-4-One, Cory Asbury, Ronnie McDowell and Maddie & Tae with Tayler Holder. Gipson said plans are being made for additional parking, which will be free this year, and several additional attractions are being added, in addition to the 70 rides.
