When parents make the extraordinary effort to have their child attend a school like Bayou Academy, this is not what they imagined taking place at the facility.

According to a letter from Bayou Academy Headmaster Curt McCain that was distributed to parents yesterday, a wireless camera was discovered in the varsity girl’s locker room. Authorities were called to the school and after an investigation, an arrest was made. At this time the school and authorities have no further comments, however, the Mississippi Department of Investigations is investigating.

Here is the letter from Curt McCain the Head of the School:

Dear Bayou Academy family.

“It is with a heavy heart that I write to you today. Unfortunately, we have been confronted with an unpleasant situation and are taking all the necessary steps to promptly and appropriately address the situation.

This past Friday evening, a wireless camera was discovered in the varsity girls locker room. The camera was removed immediately, and the proper authorities were notified. From our internal investigation, we concluded that the camera was placed in the locker room Thursday afternoon. We have contacted our local authorities and turned over all of the information that we have gathered. An Arrest has been made and there is an ongoing investigation. A thorough sweeping of the campus and network has concluded that there are no other foreign cameras or streaming devices on campus.

We encourage you to talk with your children regarding their concerns, fears, and questions. Also, we are available to you at your request. Because there is an active investigation into the situation, we cannot speak about the details. However, the mental and emotional wellbeing of our families and children is our highest priority, and we are prepared to discuss the appropriate circumstances of the incident with all concerned.

This is uncomfortable for all of us. Right now, we ask that everyone lift up the school, students, faculty, staff, and community in prayer. Please do your best not to spread misinformation and remember that there are real families involved.”
