It is with heart felt sorrow that the City of Cleveland reports the loss of one of our Public Works employees due to a tragic accident.
At 2:30 p.m. a 911 call was received concerning a person being entrapped by a mower in Jones Bayou.
Police, Fire and EMS were dispatched to the scene. The person was quickly removed and transported to the Bolivar Medical Center where other lifesaving measures were performed.
Unfortunately, our employee, Jared Benjamin Horne, succumbed to his injuries.
Jared was a valued and cherished member of the Public Works Department. He was very well thought of and liked by his co-workers. His smile, demeanor and work ethic will truly be missed. The City of Cleveland wants to extend their condolences to his family.
