FRIAR’S POINT, Miss.–At least two reports of an overturned boat on the Mississippi River had the Coahoma County Fire Department and the county’s search and rescue team busy looking late Monday and early Tuesday.
But, apparently, there was no overturned boat.
A news release from the fire department says they and Pafford EMS received reports about the boat and authorities conducted a five-hour search, which was based at Quapaw Landing boat ramp and included both a visual search and the use of sonar equipment.
The search began at 10:30 Monday night and concluded in the early morning hours Tuesday, when it was called off.
