DREW, Miss.–The school that burned in two fires in October was considered historic and was in the process of being placed on the Historical Register in Sunflower County. But, the second fire on Sunday, October 15, put an end to the school. NHow six people are paying for the fire, which was intentionally set, says the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Five of the minors involved were convicted of first degree arson Wednesday. A sixth was convicted of trespassing.
All convicted on the arson charge were sentenced to at least one year probation, 40 hours of community service and ordered to pay restitution of $4,300 per person, in monthly installments.
The minor convicted on a criminal trespass charge got six months on probation and forty hours of community service.
None of their names will be released to the public because they are minors.
