YAZOO CITY, Miss.–A former auxiliary Yazoo County deputy is in hot water, arrested on a charge of statutory rape, says Yazoo County Sheriff Jeremy “Bull” McCoy.

The sheriff said in a Facebook video that the incident that led to the arrest was Friday morning (July 5).
“At approximately 6:20 a.m. Yazoo County deputies received a call about a 13-year-old female being in a car with a 20-year-old man,” he said. Deputies caught up to the car and talked to the people inside, as well as the girl’s parents.
He said further investigation led to the arrest of Jontavis Lang, 20.
“In addition, 24-year-old former auxiliary deputy Jerquarius Carter was arrested and charged with statutory rape.”
McCoy said no further details could be provided because it is an on-going investigation. He did not provide info on whether the men had been able to bond out of jail.
