WASHINGTON, DC (Ben Caxton) — Greenville Mid-Delta Regional is not one of dozen airports across Mississippi that will share in nearly $7.6 million in new grants from the U.S. Department of Transportation. Hattiesburg-Laurel Regional will receive $660,000 for terminal building remodeling and improvements and to install a runway guidance system. In Holly Springs the county airport will receive $384,000 for drainage and erosion control and the Panola County airport is getting $317,000 for beacon and lighting projects. Overall the federal government is awarding $520.5 million in airport infrastructure grants to 287 airports in 41 states.
