Severe storms are likely today! The best chances for strong to severe storms will be north of the Interstate 20 corridor, but strong to severe storms will be possible areawide.
TIMING:
The main threat for severe storms will be this afternoon into tonight.
IMPACTS:
WIND: Gusty, damaging winds to 70 mph will be possible in the northwest with gusts to 60 mph possible elsewhere
TORNADOES: Tornadoes will be possible today with the best chances north of the I-20 corridor. A tornado or two can not be ruled out to the south.
HAIL, HEAVY RAIN, LIGHTNING: Frequent lightning, heavy rain that could contribute to localized flash flooding, and small hail will be possible with most storms. A few of these storms could become severe with hail as large as 1″ (Quarter sized)

Take a minute this morning to review your severe weather plans and know where your safe shelters are!
Should a tornado warning be issued for your area, remember that the lowest floor in the Interior-most room will often be the safest option.
If you live in a mobile home or manufactured home be prepared to leave for a well-built home or other designated shelter either ahead of severe weather or as soon as you receive a warning. Even a “weak” tornado can be very dangerous in these homes!
