YAZOO CITY, Miss.–If you’re familiar with Yazoo City you might’ve heard people talk about Shady Lane Apartments. The complex, which is just outside Yazoo City Police jurisdiction, has been a haven for criminal activity for decades. Sheriff Jeremy “Bull” McCoy says no more.
The sheriff, who has been aggressive on several fronts since taking office in January, says people who loiter or trespass will be arrested.
In a Facebook post this weekend, the sheriff’s office says they have the cooperation of apartment management with a list of names of people who belong there. People not on the list caught hanging out on premises are subject to arrest.
The apartment complex has been the site of several notorious murders and drug and gang activity.
