Greenville, MS (Kelly Benford) On March 3, at 2:03 a.m., the Greenville Police Department was dispatched to the areas of Nelson and Wilczinski about a shot person. The preliminary investigation reveals the victim appeared to have been sitting in her SUV with a passage when gunshots were heard in the immediate area. It appears the victim may have been struck in the head area, but not an intended target. Upon arrival the officers were told that the victim had already been transported from the area in a personal vehicle. Officers then proceeded to Delta Health System hospital to locate the victim. At the hospital, officers were advised that the victim had succumb to her injuries. The investigation reveals other subjects in the area may have been exchanging gunfire. Currently, there is no suspect information or arrest.
