MEMPHIS, TN (218 PM CST Mon Dec 16 2019) — The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Lafayette County in northwestern Mississippi Northern Yalobusha County in northwestern Mississippi Northwestern Calhoun County in northeastern Mississippi Northeastern Tallahatchie County in northwestern Mississippi Southern Panola County in northwestern Mississippi until 300 PM CST. At 218 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm was located near Enid, or 7 miles west of George Payne State Park, moving northeast at 65 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Oxford, Batesville, Water Valley, Charleston, George Payne State Park, Holly Springs National Forest, Crowder, Pope, Enid, Cambridge, Springdale, Burgess, Tula, Denmark, Velma, Paris, Courtland, Abbeville, Taylor and Toccopola. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
