JACKSON, MS (627 AM CST Sat Jan 11 2020) — The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Central Holmes County in central Mississippi Northeastern Warren County in west central Mississippi Yazoo County in central Mississippi West central Madison County in central Mississippi until 730 AM CST. At 627 AM CST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Thornton to 7 miles northwest of Phoenix, moving northeast at 55 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Severe thunderstorms will be near Thornton, Howard and Tolarville around 630 AM CST. Lexington and Tinsley around 640 AM CST. Little Yazoo around 645 AM CST. Yazoo City and Myrleville around 650 AM CST. Benton around 655 AM CST. Coxburg around 705 AM CST. Ebenezer and Brozville around 710 AM CST. Franklin around 715 AM CST. Other locations impacted by these severe thunderstorms include Eden, Satartia and Bentonia. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
