Greenville, MS (Kelly Benford) — Greenville has a new vice-mayor. Councilman James Wilson was appointed to the position on January 7th. Wilson, a native of Hollandale, MS, currently serves as a member of Greenville City Council for a second term and owns his own business of 35 years, C&W Auto Sales. Wilson also is a member of Mt. Aarat M.B. Church, where he serves as a deacon. Mayor Errick Simmons says he looks forward to working alongside Wilson for this upcoming year. “Vice Mayor Wilson has been instrumental in making things happen on economic and education fronts as well,” Simmons said. “His leadership and service are complemented by his sense of strength, tenacity, and decisiveness. I look forward to his service as Vice Mayor.” Wilson says that he will continue to strive to make Greenville one. “Now that God has blessed me with this opportunity to serve as Vice Mayor for the City of Greenville, I will continue to serve as an honest, accountable, loyal dedicated and hard-working City official,” Wilson said.
