GREENVILLE, Miss. — Multiple arrests were made Wednesday following the execution of two separate search warrants by the Greenville Police Department, authorities said.
According to police, the department’s Special Operations Division and Criminal Investigations Division carried out felony arrests Jan. 7 in unrelated cases.
The first search warrant was executed by the Special Operations Division in the 1300 block of East Reed Road. During the search, officers discovered illegal drugs and firearms located in close proximity to a church and a school.
As a result, 42-year-old Reginald Welton of Greenville was arrested and charged with trafficking marijuana, felony possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, felony possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, two counts of firearm enhancement, and two enhancement charges for being in close proximity to a school and a church.
Welton is being held at the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility while awaiting his initial court appearance.
Several hours later, detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division executed a second search warrant in the 1400 block of Marilyn Avenue in connection with a house burglary investigation. During that search, officers recovered stolen property linked to a previous burglary.
Detectives arrested a 15-year-old juvenile and 19-year-old Izeekia Sanders. Sanders was charged with house burglary, directing a youth to commit a felony, and four counts of possession of stolen property.
The juvenile is being held under the authority of Youth Court. Sanders is being held at the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility pending his initial appearance.
All suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
