GREENVILLE, Miss. — Authorities say the investigation is ongoing in Greenville’s first homicide of 2026, as local and federal agencies work to process evidence and identify those responsible.

Greenville police responded about 3:49 p.m. Feb. 3 to a report of a person lying in the roadway in the 1900 block of Lowe’s Road. When officers arrived, they found the body of a Black male who appeared to have been shot multiple times.
Family members later identified the victim as 21-year-old Tony Parker Jr. of Greenville.

Investigators determined that Parker’s 2022 Toyota Camry had also been stolen. The vehicle was recovered the following day, Feb. 4, abandoned near the intersection of Causey and Baskin drives, police said.
Police Chief Marcus Turner Sr. said the department is partnering with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Department of Homeland Security as the investigation continues.

“Our prayers and sympathy are with the family and friends of Tony Parker Jr.,” Turner said in a statement. “Our investigators are currently partnered with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and Department of Homeland Security to ensure we process every piece of evidence to bring forth justice for this family.”
Turner added that the department is working with federal partners on other ongoing cases and urged anyone with information to come forward.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the homicide to contact Crime Stoppers at (662) 378-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000 if their information leads to an arrest.
