On September 6th, 2021, the Bolivar County Sherriff’s Office received a call about a possible deceased person in a vehicle on Thompson Road near a pecan orchard. When deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered a black female slumped over on the passenger side of a vehicle deceased. The victim suffered from a stab wound to the chest. The victim was identified as Latara Brown, 39 from Rosedale, MS.
On September 7th, the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged Dennis Leflore, 57 of Rosedale, MS for the murder of Ms. Brown. Leflore was taken before a judge for an initial hearing and bond was set at $250,000.
