HERNANDO, Miss.–Dog the Bounty Hunter may be pitching in some money to help catch DeSoto County detainee Joshua Zimmerman, who escaped custody at the DeSoto County courthouse in Hernando two weeks ago.
Duane Chapman (Dog’s real name) posted on social media over the weekend that the reward for credible info that leads to Zimmerman’s arrest is now $20,000.
The reward had previously been raised to $15,000 by U.S. Marshalls, who are searching for Zimmerman, described by DeSoto County Sheriff Thomas Tuggle as a “career criminal”.
Zimmerman was about to face a judge on carjacking and attempted murder charges when he was able to “exploit a weakness in courthouse security” and got outside, catching a ride with someone who was headed to Memphis.
Zimmerman has ties to Connecticut and Tennessee.
