JACKSON, MS (1147 PM CDT Sun Mar 22 2020) — The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Central Sunflower County in northwestern Mississippi North central Washington County in northwestern Mississippi Southern Bolivar County in northwestern Mississippi until 1230 AM CDT. At 1146 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Lamont, or 11 miles north of Greenville, moving northeast at 55 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. This severe thunderstorm will be near Benoit around 1155 PM CDT. Shaw around 1205 AM CDT. Cleveland and Boyle around 1210 AM CDT. Renova around 1215 AM CDT. Ruleville around 1220 AM CDT. Other locations impacted by this severe thunderstorm include Doddsville. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
