JACKSON, MS (434 PM CDT Fri Jun 5 2020) — The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southern Sunflower County in northwestern Mississippi Washington County in northwestern Mississippi Central Humphreys County in central Mississippi Southern Bolivar County in northwestern Mississippi until 515 PM CDT. At 434 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Benoit to Swiftown, moving southwest at 45 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Severe thunderstorms will be near Belzoni, Lamont and Winterville around 445 PM CDT. Greenville and Metcalfe around 450 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by these severe thunderstorms include Beulah, Silver City and Arcola. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
