JACKSON, MS (418 AM CST Sat Jan 11 2020) — The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southeastern Sunflower County in northwestern Mississippi Northwestern Carroll County in north central Mississippi Western Grenada County in north central Mississippi Leflore County in north central Mississippi until 515 AM CST. At 418 AM CST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Ruleville to near Indianola, moving northeast at 60 mph. HAZARD: 70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Severe thunderstorms will be near Ruleville and Drew around 425 AM CST. Itta Bena, Quito and Minter City around 435 AM CST. Greenwood and Money around 445 AM CST. Teoc around 450 AM CST. Leflore, Avalon and Malmaison around 455 AM CST. Jefferson and Holcomb around 500 AM CST. Bew Springs around 505 AM CST. Grenada around 510 AM CST. Other locations impacted by these severe thunderstorms include Doddsville, Carrollton, Schlater and Morgan City. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
