JACKSON, MS (521 PM CDT Sun Apr 12 2020) — The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Eastern Madison Parish in northeastern Louisiana Warren County in west central Mississippi Western Yazoo County in central Mississippi Northwestern Hinds County in central Mississippi Eastern Issaquena County in west central Mississippi Southeastern Humphreys County in central Mississippi Sharkey County in west central Mississippi until 600 PM CDT. At 521 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Fitler to 8 miles west of Vicksburg, moving northeast at 65 mph. HAZARD: 70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Severe thunderstorms will be near Fitler around 525 PM CDT. Valley Park and Onward around 530 PM CDT. Redwood around 535 PM CDT. Holly Bluff, Oak Ridge and Youngton around 540 PM CDT. Phoenix around 550 PM CDT. Tinsley around 600 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by these severe thunderstorms include Mound, Satartia, Cary, Louise and Delta. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
