YAZOO CITY, Miss.–If you live in Yazoo County and you’re thinking about dumpster diving or leaving you bags outside the dumpster instead of in it, you might get a ticket. Yazoo County Sheriff Jeremy “Bull” McCoy, says he’s tired of seeing trash outside the dumps and will be writing tickets.
A sign posted at one dump site indicates you could get a $300 fine for “scavenging” or a $500 fine for illegal dumping.
“This is unacceptable!!! How can we move forward when we throw out trash all over the ground. The pitch-ins aren’t even full but trash is all over the ground. There won’t be anymore warnings,” read a Facebook post from the weekend, alongside pictures of messy dumping areas.
You could get a $3,000.00 fine for dumping tires, read the sign.
