On June 5, 2022 around 8pm, the Greenville Police Department was dispatched to 618 Pickett Street in reference to a shot person.
Upon officer’s arrival, they noticed a 13yr old male had been shot once in the head, and another juvenile had been transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
Officers called for paramedics that transported the male to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The deceased 13yr old was identified as Camari Barnes of Houston, Texas. Police have two key persons of interest in custody, but the investigation is still on-going.
